Our Story

From the beginning…

Mother & daughter both find their inspiration to create & share their love of food from their baking lessons as children taught by Elaine’s Mother, Shirley Palmer, Elaine took this passion and put it into action, opening her own cafe in Eastwood on the 4th July 2011. A small family business which has grown to be something really special.

In 2019 Bees Knees Catering was founded & opened a canteen for the workers in a busy bakery in Watnall. 2 years later Elaine & Rachael set to work on the Bees Knees Coffee Shop and Bistro. We love what we do & love working together with our Bees Knees family to bring you the best!

The People Behind It All

Elaine (Owner)

Elaine has over 15 years of experience in catering and hospitality, Elaine has a passion for great food and loves to create the wow factor wherever she can. Always likes to think outside the box to bring something a bit different whilst always putting the customer’s needs at the top of her priorities.

Rachael (Owner)

Rachael has over experience in catering and hospitality. She has a passion for food, but her true joy comes from learning and sharing the history and origins of food and culture that unite people. Rachael’s most significant accomplishment is being a co-owner of Bees Knees, where she delights in collaborating with Elaine.

The Deli & Kitchen

Bees Knees have a firm belief that great food and great company is the best recipe for a good time! We aim to deliver just that.

Bees Knees are excited to present to you our coffee shop and bistro! We love to provide fresh tasty food that brings people together.

So, whether it is popping in to our store in Eastwood or going online, we can’t wait to bring you something to enjoy at home or a gift for your friends & family.

I have had these before from here and quality and quantity is amazing on both occasions. So much choice too. All freshly made and a lot of it.

Rachel and Elaine were lovely and Rachel really took time to teach my son and build his confidence. Best of all we got to eat lots of different tapas dishes.

Would highly recommend the classes to anyone who wants to cook or try new dishes.
